3 Dog-Friendly Irish Pubs in San Francisco

1. The Irish Bank

This Irish bar in the Financial District is one of the biggest destinations for St. Patrick’s Day in San Francisco. Typically known for serving classic pub food and a huge selection of whiskeys in an alley lined with outdoor tables, the holiday turns the little alley into a full-blown street party. Dogs are allowed in the outdoor area, and any pup comfortable with the crowds will love getting to be a part of the festivities.

2. Chief Sullivan’s

This friendly Irish tavern in North Beach has a little of everything you’re likely looking for in an Irish pub in SF. Eat some pub food at the long communal tables inside, pull up to the bar to enjoy affordable drinks and sports on the TVs, or take a seat outside on a nice day. And of course, bring your dog along. This place has been in the neighborhood a while and certainly gets busy on St. Patrick’s Day, but the spillover into the front street makes it especially easy for those with dogs who won’t want to sit still inside (though the fact that they’re allowed to is pretty great!).

The staff is great and the crowd usually is as well, making it a favorite Irish bar for many in the city. If they’re dog-friendly, they’ve got to be pretty great people, right?
